Male Pattern Baldness

Male pattern baldness, also known as Androgenetic Alopecia, is responsible for about 90% of hair loss in men. It usually develops very gradually. Classically, at first the hair begins to thin (recede) at the sides (temples) and simultaneously the hair normally will become thinner on the top of the head.

A bald patch will gradually develop in the middle of the scalp whilst a rim of hair at the sides and rear of the head normally remains. In some men, this rim of hair also thins causing a complete bald scalp.
